Batavia Library programs for January & February

Second Wednesday Book Club – For adults, meets every month on the second Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The January 8 title is Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, by Alan Bradley, and the February 12 title is Destiny of the Republic, by Candace Millard. No pre-registration required.

Sensory Playshop – Fridays, January 10 and February 7, 10:30 am. Children ages 0-4 can develop their motor skills and vocabulary as they explore a variety of stations created to stimulate their senses. Be prepared to get messy. Caregivers must be present at all times. Requires pre-registration.

Beginner Coding With Ozobots – Tuesday, January 21, at 6:30 pm. Kids ages 6-8 are invited to explore coding through fun and interactive play with tiny robots. Pre-registration required.

Winter Painted Plates – Monday, January 27, at 6:30 pm. Adults can learn techniques for painting a winter design on a porcelain plate. All supplies will be provided. Just bring your creativity. Requires pre-registration.

Mystery Book Club – For adults, last Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m. The January 29 title is The Woods, by Harlan Coben. The February 26 title is The Dinner, by Herman Koch. No pre-registration required.

Happy Hearts Hop – Tuesday, February 11, at 6:30 pm. Children can make a special valentine to give to a friend or family member. The program will have stories, a craft, music, games and treats. Requires pre-registration.

President Lincoln and Slavery – Monday, February 24, at 6:30 pm. Local Historian Gary Knepp will cover President Lincoln's viewpoint and decisions on slavery during his presidency and how he led the country during the Civil War. Requires pre-registration, for adults.
